About exhibition
The tearing of the categories that predetermine our experiences causes a fertile epistemological hole to immerse ourselves in “the other” ways of perceiving and acting on the latent planet. The leaks | cracks | Political fissures that are revealed in the face of the structural breakdown that governs society, reveal the multiple potentialities – silenced and imprisoned – of our existence in this contact surface.
The recording of the performances of Aun Helden (Brazil), the photographic expansion of her feature film Eternidade, and the pieces of Lucila Sancineti (Argentina), act as evidence of multiple processes of suspended transmutations that coexist in a new possible system marked by cooperation instead of the competition.
Helden’s images narrate an identity search that starts from disidentity through a move away from the binary categories female-male, natural-artificial and origin-destiny to immerse oneself in the virtue of indetermination. From the latex treatment she materializes new skins, fantasy corpses, and prostheses that allow her to transcend the limits of the flesh – the human with the sole purpose of being “being.”
Sancineti’s pieces reflect the multiple transitional instances of entities that coexist in the room beyond their in-evolutionary stages marked by latencies, suspensions, germinations, voids, overflows and non-hierarchical links.
